Back in the good old days of 2024, somewhere between sparring sessions, post-training beers, and endless “someone should really organise a tournament with a proper branding” conversations, we realised something was missing from the HEMA scene. There were tournaments, sure, but very few that truly felt like a place where people could both compete hard during the day and still relax, connect, laugh, and enjoy the atmosphere afterward. We wanted to create something with high standards and smooth organisation, but to keep the warmth and personality that make this community special and open to the creative and alternative side of the scene.
That’s how this project started. After more than 25 years of history, the Belgrade Fencing Academy decided it was finally time to step into tournament organization and do it our own way. This tournament became our way of returning to the scene with fresh energy, bold visuals, and a goal to build an event with vibes so good people genuinely look forward to every year. A tournament where skill matters, creativity is welcome, the alternative side of HEMA gets space to breathe, and everyone, from seasoned fighters to first-time visitors, feels like they belong there.

The tournament is coming back with an expanded program built around three disciplines: smallsword, rapier, and saber!
You’ll find us in Belgrade, Serbia, a place surprisingly easy to reach from pretty much anywhere in Europe. It is a city of good food and questionable traffic, so no excuses for getting lost on your way!!! (althought we will understand your strruggles, so if you need any assistance feel free to reach out to us)

the Belgrade Fencing Academy crew, a mix of people who probably should’ve stopped at “this might be a lot of work” but didn’t. They handle the organizing, the planning, the last-minute fixes, and everything in between that keeps the tournament from turning into pure chaos.
HERE you can meet the masterminds and professional problem-solvers behind the event: Our girl power duo Jelica and Andrijana are the main organisers, while Petar and Andrej are the ones making sure the rules make sense and the judging stays (mostly) fair. If something feels smooth, it’s because of them. If something feels slightly chaotic… also probably because of them.
